181. Having worked in the OR, /I can tell you that several issues have come into play here.
First, these pics were taken during the healing process as you can still see suture (stitch marks, redness, scabbing.)
Second, the holes are what is called dehiscence. When there is too much stress on a healing incision, it can and many times will "bust open" as wounds heal from the inside out. Clearly this patient utilized her abdominal muscles too soon as the openings are at stress points only. Even getting up wrong can cause this. Pts are given instructions on how to avoid this.
She may be a slow healer, smoker, diabetic, or just in poor health.
Look at the rest of her body. She does not have the body that one in good health has. She has no muscle tone,is overweight, and therefore would be at high risk for surgical healing complications.
I do agree that incisions are sloppy, but if she healed properly, the whole thing would look different.
182. It looks to me that she may have been smoking before and after surgery. I have seen people heal like this and the smoking causes this. My doctor insisted upon no smoking 2 weeks prior and for months following my tummy tuck and breast lift. I healed fine-thats smoking damage because as I sat in the waiting room for my check-up, some women was complaining about her surgery not healing, and let me tell you-it looks horrible, and then she admitted her smoking 2 packs a day and her scar looked the same as the picture.
183. if you believe dr. adams left the woman like this you are an idiot. this was caused pre-op, simply the wound has popped open in two places. this kind of thing happens with surgery.
all the other pictures look bad too, but i bet they were only taken afew days after surgery (this is obvious because of the scabbing). wait 3 months, re-stitch where the wound has burst and she would look a lot better.
by the way, for those of you saying his medical license needs to be taken away, she would've signed a consent form before surgery with all risks explained (this is standard), so unless he blatently abused her, he is covered.
184. there is no way that this was this womans fault!!!!!!!!!!! i understand that we as patients check out the doctor, dentist or whatever, unfortunatley we don't and these are the results. doctors were once people we respected for their professionalism, honor and duty, but it seems these days we have to worry and be untrustful of even doctors. i pray to God that He help this woman thru this trying time in her life. good luck and i'll be praying for her
185. I thought about plastic surgery but I agree with the person that said to eat well and excercise. I like TMZ. They are not one sided. They research things and show you the facts. This woman was butchered. I can't understand the TV stations not checking these doctors out before they put them on a show. Don't they want to pay the money for a real doctor.
186. I am mad as all hell at this doctor!!! He should lose his joke of a medical license (that he apparently got in some back alley anyway.)
And, he should be thrown in jail. How dare he perform these kind if surgeries without the proper qualifications!!!
HE is a BUTCHER!!! These women were misled and now they are literally butchered for life!!
Kanye's mother was not even so lucky! She lost her life!! I think there needs to be criminal charges filed against the guy (other then all those other DUIS' he got!!!)
HE is A MURDERER!!! He needs to never see the light if day again. I pray that Kanye and the authorities go after this mofo!! I would ring his neck if I got my hands on him!!!

"A dentist can take a six month course and do plastic surgery so please be more responsible"
As a dentist I know that yes we are allowed to take a 6 month course and perform BOTOX and only botox. This is because we have already studied the anatomy and physiology of the head and neck in depth. So your comment is inaccurate and very inappropiate. Dentists cannot take a six month course and perform
invasive procedures such as breast augmentation, liposuction etc. So please do your research before making sensational comments.
188. If you have ever had any kind of stomach surgery you would not be such an a** about all the horrible pictures here. Weather or not the surgery was nesscery or not they paid to be changed for the better to them, not to pay some peice of sh** wanna be doctor to actually bucther them! How can you even think he is not in the wrong. You are about as smart as him.
189. of course this woman survived. all the incisions that she has are what are usually done with this type of surgery. look it up. this womans's issue are with the healing process. sometimes this sort of thing happens and thats the risk anyone takes with having elective surgery. she looks like she was pretty over weight to begin with, therefore what has happened to her wounds postop are really not that rare.
190. I think we don't know enough about what went on in this case. The thing about TMZ the reorting is so biased and slanted for shock value... I find it difficult to put much stock in what I see here or on the TV show.
191. I have had my stomach done and my chin done. I have never had anything this horrible happen! My stitches were fabulous and I never had triangles of skin and underskin exposed in the process. It has been 4 years since and I will get my breasts done next (reduction) and I will use the same doctor in South OC.
The pictures shown are of a terribly done surgery. I wish anyone with such results the best and even though it was elective surgery, they still should get excellent treatment.
You never know how it will turn out and if it is for the worst you have every right to ask for compensation to help remedy the situation...no agreement covers open wounds not healing properly!
192. After reviewing all of these comments, I have to agree with those of you who feel pre-op instructions and post-op care is necessary. While I do believe that it is very sad that Dr. West suffered complications after surgery, we should not be so quick to pass judgement and blame Dr. Adams. We as Americans take the side of the largest or trendiest gossip news outlet and that's not fair to those being singled out, in this case Dr. Adams. We don't know the REAL story, but rather what outlets like this want you to see. They sway your perception of the issue. Please, remember that proper research and pre/post op care is up to the patient. Also, why would you make such inflamatory judgements about those trying to defend Dr. Adams or at least make you aware of both sides of the story. If you can not contribute anything valuable to a conversation, then don't.
193. Anyone willing to undergo elective surgery must educate themselves on the risks, verufy the doctor's credentials, and be in excellent shape for healing. Tummy tucks have caused this problem in a lot of women- her result is not unusual. There are external factors- smoking, alcohol, poor health, and there are ALWAYS factors that affect recovery that weren't known.
AS for Donde West, sadly she was well warned that a prior health condition made her a poor candidate for elective surgery. She DID know her risks, and the doctor's who would not perorm her surgery are vindicated in their judgement.
Bottom line- both women were warned of risks associated with surgery. The doctor CANNOT control your ability to heal. That is out of his hands. Many people do not follow post-op care instructions TO THE LETTER ( or even pre-op instructions) and then are shocked when it doesn't turn out as they fantasized it would.
194. I am a nurse and I am so very sad to see the post operative condition of these wounds. It is true that many different factors go into surgeries of this type but, the fact remains that we as patients have a duty to research the doctors throughly. They need to check the doctor's mortality rates and number (if any), of patient complaints. Many patient's feel they will upset the doctor by asking too many questions, if the doctor gets that pissed off then maybe he/she is not the one for you. The after care has to be taken into consideration also. If the doctor is upset for you looking into your health before hand, then your after care may be compromised too.
195. If you go to the hall of records in your city your can check out doctors and all lawsuits they have had or have pending and make sure they are board certified. A dentist can take a six month course and do plastic surgery so please be more responsible. Plastic surgery is looked at as light stuff. It is as serious as any other surgery. Be smart and safe.
