286. I doubt she was up running around after 9 hours of surgery with incisions like that all over her body. All the people who say it was HER fault need to realize that after a surgery like this you CAN'T move around at all for quite a few days. It is even hard to use the bathroom. So I don't see how she could have overexerted herself enough to rip sutures open all over her chest and abdomen. She probably couldn't even get up from a chair by herself for a week.
These dr's lie, cheat and keep many secrets. They will alter your surgery report to protect themselves. All these people who believe medical professionals are not corrupt are flat out stupid. Take it from someone who knows.
287. Before anyone has any elective surgery they should do their homework thoroughly. Research, research, research. Confirm that the doctor is board certified; confirm that no malpractice suits have been filed against him/her; ask the doctor how many times he/she has performed this particular procedure; ask to see his/her before and after patient photos; ask to speak to some patients who have had the procedure done by this doctor. If the doctor refuses to answer any of your questions or makes you feel rushed in any way, that should be a red flag. Find another doctor. It appears to me that Kanye's mother may not have done as much research on this doctor as she should have or she would have learned the information that is coming out now. That's really a shame because her death is really a needless one and very sad.
289. I missed the rest of the photos until a few seconds ago. It's enough to make me want to puke! What on God's green acres was she trying to accomplish with this surgery? I'd love to have smaller breasts and a flatter tummy. I'd even like to get rid of the excess fat in my chin. But, I would never, ever let someone take a knife to me to fix the problems. I'm attractive and have often been told I could be a model but I'm not what I'd like to be. But guess what? I'm just going to have to learn to live with it. There is no way I'd let someone do that to me. It's just not worth it.
291. Despite all the precautions taken to avoid infections after surgery some people just get them anyway. Once an infection sets it you can't stitch it back up again. The wound has to stay open, drain and heal that way.
I had my back surgery site get infected and open up two days after two disks were repaired. The incision was 4 inches long and down to the bone. It took two months to heal completely and left a pretty ugly scar.
That's life, it happens.
292. I had a breast reduction 13 years ago and this is not normal. I was a naturally skinny girl who was a genetic freak with DDD boobs. I was so happy to get rid of those monstrosities that I did not take enough time rest and heal as the doctor ordered. Yes, my scars were bright red for a couple of months but they never looked like that. They never oozed or were wide open like hers. Within three months the scars were light and flesh colored. Even now new boyfriends don't notice until I point it out to them. Also, it looks like he took too much out. I'm sure this procedure has improved greatly in the past 13 years. I didn't even go to a fancy "Hollywood" doctor. My heart goes out to that poor woman.
293. THEY GOT INFECTED!!!! Maybe non-medical experienced people have a hard time seeing it. That caused the scarring, it is not the person holding the scalpel, that is always a clean cut, it is what happens afterwards that makes the difference.
294. I agree that it seems this lady did not take care of her incisions. I just did a breast reduction 4 weeks ago, and I have similar scars as she does. However, the doctor warned, if u do not rest and minimize movement, u will open the incisions....basic common sense because even when I was coming out of bed, that little pressure strained the same spot on my breast as where this lady's scar is open. But everyone's situation is different...just my opinion.
297. Just by looking in the pictures I can tell you that in the tummy tuck picture, scars don't just open by themselves she could had been negligent in the way she took care of herself, scars open when you move to much and don't rest enough. In the breast lift picture, she looks like she didn't apply any Neosporin or used a barrier or bandage between her skin and her shirt, she could have removed the bandages too soon or let them get infected and that could have easily caused the scarring. I don't see any marks that she washed her skin with Betadine to disinfect her skin. Awful, just awful.
298. These pictures show "wound dehissence", when sutures or staples are removed prematurely, or pop out due to movement and stress placed on that body part by the patient. It can also be caused by infection, but the wounds in these photos - while gruesome to the untrained eye - do not show any significant signs of post-operative infection.
A surgeon can do everything right, the patient can follow the surgeons instructions for post-op care, and they can still have a bad outcome.
It happens, people. And sometimes it is simply no one's fault.
Deal with it.
Plastic surgery is still MAJOR SURGERY.
THERE ARE RISKS INVOLVED, INCLUDING BEING SCARRED AND MAIMED FOR LIFE.
299. i remember a cable channel documentary about bad plastic surgery. one thing i did remember, was that it said never get plastic surgery done in Florida because that state does not regulate that kind of surgery. any doctor in florida can call him/her self a plastic surgeon. this surgeon is from california, so i can not comment about that state.
300. If you are going to have surgery please follow all the post-op directions, make sure you don't have abnormal scarring, and remember there is ALWAYS a chance of negative side effects. The lady in the picture should have never needed plastic surgery if she kept her mouth shut and stopped stuffing her face with food. Then she wants a quick easy fix. After surgery she probably gained weight and stretched her scars before they healed. I am sorry she scarred so bad but there is ALWAYS a chance of this. I am sure there are a LOT more people happy with their tummy tucks and breast lifts you just only hear of the bad ones, we love drama. How many people go out there and "complain" that they had a good plastic surgery??????????
