106. I almost forgot!
6. If you have a serious medical problem that can harm or kill you during the surgery, a good Dr. may refuse to work on you OR will ask you to go back to your general Dr. and get a MEDICAL CLEARENCE.
107. Here is some good advise if you or someone you know is looking to get plastic surgery:
1. Is he/she Board Certified? There are many so-called boards, but you just buy your way in as a Dr.
THE ONLY REAL ONE is American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). Their website is: www.plasticsurgery.org
Go on there and find a Dr.
2. Plastic surgery is expensive...so if it sounds like a good deal, RUN AWAY!!
3. Plastic surgery is to IMPROVE your look, not make you look like someone else!
4. A good Dr. will not even touch you if he/she thinks you are a plactic surgery addict or if you bring in a picture to get another persons face.
5. This can happen anywhere, but fake Dr.'s like Adams are a typical case in urban areas. This is because they pray on people who may not have all the proper info. and may not have alot of money. So be careful!!
:)
108. MY HEART GOES OUT FOR WEST'S MOM AND FOR ALL THE PATIENTS DR. JAN ADAMS HAS OPERATED ON. ALL OF THE PATIENTS WHO ARE STILL AROUND SHOULD COME FORWARD AND LET EVERY ONE KNOW THAT THIS DOCTOR IS NOT WHAT HE PROJECTS TO BE. HOW COULD DISCOVERY HEALTH CHANNEL NOT KNOW THAT HE IS NOT BOARD CERTIFIED?
BY DOING SO, IT EDUCATES ALL OF US WHO ARE STILL CONSIDERING SOME TYPE OF PLASTIC SURGERY.
109. he is a burcher, that kill that woman who had the breast reduction surgery and the tumi tuck if would it need it a surgery like that i will not do it with these doctor, people are crazy they just, dont check this people out good and she should it had these done in a hospital, like palmetto hospital.
111. WHY IS EVERYONE BLAMING THE PATIENTS?? SHOULDN'T ONE HAVE THE RIGHT TO ASSUME COMPETENT MEDICAL CARE FROM A PERSON WHO IS AN MD? WHY AM I THE FIRST TO QUESTION ADAMS' QUALIFICATIONS AS AN MD? FROM THE MOST RECENT INFORMATION, NOT ONLY ARE HIS SURGICAL TECHNIQUES ATROCIOUS, BUT HIS MEDICAL PROCEDURES APPEAR SUSPICIOUSLY LIKE THOSE OF A MEDICAL SCHOOL WASHOUT. IT IS NOW COMMON KNOWLEDGE THAT HE IS NOT BOARD-CERTIFIED AS A PLASTIC SURGEON, BUT HOW DID HE GET ANY KIND OF LICENSE TO PRACTICE ANY KIND OF MEDICINE. OR IS "DR" JAN ADAMS ONE OF THOSE "PC MD'S"?
THAT HE IS A FAVORITE OF "DOPRAH" IS NOT SURPRISING. THAT HE FOOLED HER IS EVEN LESS SURPRISNG!
THAT HE HAS A DUI, ASSAULT CHARGES, A HISTORY OF SEXUALLY INAPPROPRIATE PATIENT CONTACT, NUMEROUS MALPRACTICE LAWSUITS,-TO NAME A FEW- SHOULDN'T COME AS A SURPRISE TO ANYBODY.
DISCOVERY IS, NO DOUBT, EMBARASSED BY THE GAFFE. IT SERVES THEM RIGHT! PATRONIZATION IS STUPID--AND DANGEROUS. HAPPY KWAANSA....
112. it could be adams fault just as well as hers, or no ones fault! in plastic surgery ecspecially in the healing process sometimes sutures may tare, infections set in. The outcome may not turn out the way you want everyone heals differently! As for Dr. Adams, me being one interested in sugery am healthy and have done my research personally I would not go to him!
113. Let me add here that this may not be Dr Adams fault. Most people are unaware that there are genetic connective tissue diseases that may cause such poor healing, opened wounds and poor scarring. Something like Ehlers Danlos might do this. Often these disorders remain undiagnosed in patients. And this could be the result, so don't just jump to the conclusion that this is always the docs fault. As a nurse, something appears to be wrong with the healing, not the incision. Also, you don't know when these photos were taken. Some could have been during the normal healing process. Wounds don't just heal up and look great a few weeks post op you know. It takes a long time.
People seem to always want to believe the worst.
114. OMG if this is the handiwork of Jan Adams or anyone else, I'm sick.
The poor woman that had to endure this and live with the consequences of botched cosmetic procedures......she has my sincerest and deepest sympathies.
I'm undergoing breast augmentation soon myself but I have checked out my doctor, his board certification, his fully accredited facility and staff, including board certified anesthesiologist.
Its STILL SCARY though!
I've gotten a lot of great references from the patients of my Dr around town. He does 700+ augmentations a year.
Bless this woman's heart. I'm so sorry she has to live with botched surgery.
115. We live in a spoiled, all about my looks USA..Dear God help them. Thankfully I'm leaving this country
and going where people famour or not, don't do this crap. Their just people. Living their lives. Using mass transit so they don't pay the high price of gas.
I gave up with no regrets. I won't be joining Club pastic! (cards and implants) no thanks. I'm history
good luck america, you're going to need it big time.
116. When you go under, you are farther down than when you sleep because they don't want you to move around.
You are literally on life support dependant on the condition and age of their equipment and the skill and credentials of whomever is putting you under.
If you're consumed with your breast size or the bump on your nose and having them altered makes you not think about them anymore- then, go for it.
But, take into consideration your age, your health and also be realistic about what you want to accomplish.
In my 30s, I wanted the same procedure that West's mom had. Money and time prevented me from getting it done.
Now, in my mid 50s- I wouldn't do it even if they did it for free.
Not because of the deaths reported, but because at this age, a flat stomach and perky boobs is not going to change my life that drastically- unless I don't make it off the operating table.
117. i myslf recently under went brest reduction and a tummy tuck. not out of vanity either. ive lost 154lbs.,without gastric bypass, and needed it done. the pain was extreme but my results were terrific!! this is the best i have felt in years!! dr.jan adams should let some who has exactly the same qualifications he has operate on him then maybe he will know just how he is messing up these women's lives!! shame on you dr. adams not only have you killed kayne west but i hope you lose it all!!!
118. OMG iiiiiiillllll!!!! I can't believe that guy!! Why don't people actually search into their doctors to make sure they are board certified to do procedures?! People, this is YOUR BODY! You have to walk around with this the rest of your life - do your damn homework!!!
119. wow, this is scary! and i'm not talking about the pics! i've read about 3 pages of the previous posts and it really sounds like a witch trial here, they're calling for his head! as a 4th year med student i can say that dehiscence and infection are well known and common types of complications. whats not common is for a doctor to have a flashy web page and hollywood persona, and that may have a little to do with all the negativity directed towards Dr Adams. now we don't know much of anything about the details surrounding kanye's moms death, so its ridiculous to comment at all about who's fault it was. so basically we have people who don't know ANYTHING about surgical outcomes (or those who think their single anecdotal experience apply generally) and are calling for the most extreme measures! (loss of licence, jail, burning at the stake etc etc)
Now thats scary.
120. You couldn't pay me to alter my body. I have glasses and I don't even want to mess with the laser eye surgery. If God had wanted me to look like someone else..he'd have made me that way. I'm 31, with 3 kids. Things are moving south..oh well..things aren't as "perky" as they once were. Who cares..Vicky's Secret bras do wonders. I'm not a pole dancer, or a nudist..so who's going to see it but the man who helped make me this way? Some say "I did it for me"..well..I can assure you..it was for more than themselves. Everyone is beautiful..some just have to search a little deeper to find their beauty!
