8. Listen people - Alanis is not "promoting" healthy or unhealthy. She's just walking around the way she is. Why the hell does every celebrity have to be "promoting" some sort of lifestyle bullshit? Just because Nicole Ritchie is anorexic doesn't mean she's "promoting" anorexia - she's just living the life she lives with a disease that attacks her self-esteem. Alanis is a little chunky and could do with some working out to tighten up her body, but she's not "promoting" being chunky, nor is she promoting eating right or working out. She's just Alanis, doing what Alanis does and being who Alanis is, healthy or not.

9. I toally agree that AriMarie's assertions are completely out of line and so untrue. I give Alanis a lot of credit for promoting a healthy, positive body image to American youth. Kate Moss and the rest of the "rail thin" models sure as hell don't provide that. You need to give yourself a mental make-over or something because your way of thinking is so contrived and warped. It's people like you and who have your lack of mental abilites that make women bulimic and aneroxic. Not to be too harsh, but you're a moron.

10. so now we have to tear other people apart to make ourselves feel better. are any of us award winning song writers and musicians? nope. are any of us ever going to be? probably not. so get off your high horses and shut up. alanis is a beautiful woman whether she has gained weight or not its none of our business and it disgusting that we spend so much time focusing on actors and actresses, guess what, their over paid and over rated. and we're pathetic for caring.

13. Well, of course she has gained weight in the past decade. After the age of 20 a woman gains on average 2 pounds a year, just by keeping to the same diet/exercise routine. In order to not gain weight you'd have to constantly eat less and move more. Not to mention you would be a crazy person. GO ALANIS!

Although still a beautiful woman, Alanis carries her real beauty on the inside, and that is the only place that it truly matters. Listen to her music, listen to the words. Listen to "Thank U" and think of what she sings. A beautiful soul carries on.
