I'm not black and I can say that sounds very racist. Eventhough Im white, Im offended I look up to stars like Beyonce and Eve. They are better role models than the out of control paris and lindsay.

Everything is always being boiled down to race and I believe blacks take a brunt of it when there is a gay/lesbian channel, asian channel, and latino channel too yet the focus is on BET being exclusionary and racist. Being part of a dominant race bring subconsious priviledges that people are not even aware of or then would be not need for race/ethnic-based organizations or awards shows. Obviously they are fulfilling a need for representation that is not in the mainstream. I implore everyone not to use ill experiences with a few blacks or a few whites to generlize about the millions of others of the opposite race. Black women come in all shapes, sizes, and attitudes just like White, Latina, and Asian women. Anyone who generalizes sounds ignorant and only adds to the problem. I too think it's really unfortunate that TMZ didn't point out that the above pictures were the exceptions to most of the attendees at the show who looked great.

To me it seems that the whites who are complaining are angry that that they are unfairly discriminated against by the BET Awards. However the awards show celebrates RnB, Rap, Hip-Hop, and Soul music which are genres that are dominated by black artists. The show has previously shown love to Teena Marie, J. Timberlake, and Robin Thicke. Just like the CMT Awards celebrate a genre that is predominated by white artists and the Latin Music Awards are prodominated by Latino artists.

What I'm wondering is why TMZ only showed photos of outfits they could criticize and labeled it the BET Awards Fashion 07. If they planned on showing what the people attending the event wore, they should have also shown those who seemed well dressed along with those who could have done better. If they only planned on showing the bad outfits, they should have labeled it differently. What the name of the gallery with these pictures implies is that EVERYONE at the show wore bad outfits.

I've learned to ignore racist comments. If you ignore the ignorance it just goes away. People like to create controversy. And when we respond to it, it just adds to the fire so just ignore it .

I am very disappointed by this story, as it is so negative. We black women work hard to be treated as equals and with respect. All this isnundermined when the media refer to us as ?!@#$ s' and 'street walkers'. Fine if you do not like the outfits however there is no need to use such demeaning language it is totally unnecesary and whoever wrote this article should be fired.

This is in a response to Bitsey's comment. What you said is completely irrelevant. The fact of the matter is racism stills exist!!! In my opinon you seem to be the ignorant one, because if you knew the history, you would understand. We were taken out of our homes away from our families. We were forced to change our names, abandon our cultures and above all forget our God. We fought for our rights and prospered. We built this country and have given soooo much to the society we live in now. So shut the !$?@# up and pick up a book, because you're the reason our world is soooo fucked up now(excuse my language)!!!

TMZ, you are wrong for the use of "Roboho", as it relates to Beyonce! And Eve being compared to a "streetwalker" is just plain ole "Hate". These beautiful black successful entertainers are for from it. Let's face it, what straight men you have in your employ, secretly desire these women. Don't you? The rest want to be like them. LOL. Stop with the hate please.

.And black ppl dont need to get over themselves like wtf is that?? They embrace their culture and a lot of white people myself included look up to it. I love hip- hop jazz and a lot of African inspired clothing jewelry art...theres more to being a part of the African culture than what people see...and thats usually stereo types seen on television and so....its their choice to wear whatever they want. And ppl are so judgemental on these internet posts....It seems that people love to criticize others for the things they create like art music style clothing etc.....but those ppl that talk trash usually are way worse than the ppl who have the courage to be their own individual and embrace their roots.....and BEYONCE can never look bad that girl is beautiful and has the voice of an angel. She is such an inspiration and will always be better than the rehab lip sync anorexic barbie dolls from Hollywood.

But I think its going to take a lot of people to realize that different is ok. THe whites from earlier generations still carry the message of racism to their kids but soon the majority will be people who don't care about race....they can accept that others are proud of their heritage and culture and don't judge ppl for acting different....Different is beautiful and so are black people and white people and asian people and personally I think bi racial people are the most beautiful people ever.

For the white people on this post that think black people are obsessed with racism....you need to open your eyes and realize that most racism still is white on black. Although there are a lot of racist blacks that hate whites bc of their racism...it still is more majority on the minority...In the movie Something New, Sanaa Lathan plays a woman who dates a white man and she makes one of the most important comments ever made about race. She says to the white guy shes dating that no one reminds you that you are white unless you are in a room full of black people. That line in the movie was so true....black people are constantly reminded that they are different from the majority and white ppl are never uncomfortable unless they are in a situation where they are the minority. I have been a minority as a white person and I did feel uncomfortable...not bc I dont like being around all African-Americans but I felt different.

Of all the posts I have read on this comment I am completely disgusted by the poor /improper use of the english language. Did any of you pay attention in school? Why is it that when white people show up to an award show looking like idiots and get ripped to shreds they are'nt screaming racism? So what is the issue here? Just because this was the BET awards are we NOT allowed to comment on poor fashion sense? Please, get a brain and improve this world for our children to come. They deserve much better than this, and get an education while you are at it.

Tami, you said that blacks need to get over themselves! Thats a racist remark. I don't have any sympathy for white people feeling sorry for themselves because they say some blacks hasn't forgiven the things that went on in the past. So what, deal with it! You are part of a race that purposely discriminated and caused deep pain physically and emotionally on the black race. No one has given a official public apology for slavery yet! Something that should have been done years and years ago. Nobody is hating on white people. In most cases, I see alot of hatred towards blacks from whites. You know it!
