Wow, I can't believe what I am reading. I have tattoo's and I work for the government. Many people I work with have some also. I am a little younger then most of my co workers and when I come to work with a new one they all want me to show them. My theory is go big or go home. I have almost a full back peice and my ankle & foot and a half sleeve. I took my mother to get her first one and she made an appointment to get another. If you don't like them don't get one but just because someone has them doens't make them less educated. We will all look like crap when we are old so who cares if it is palin saggy skin or artful saggy skin. How do you all feel about tanning? I also carry my prada bag with my coach sun glasses and wear dress suites to work.

I love my tats..I have 3 and i'm working on #4. They all mean something to me and IF I want them to be seen they will and if not they won't. If you don't like tats oh well but don't judge the people who do.

sebmom blog continued: Before you are quick to judge me as uneducated or ignorant just because I have tattoos, let me clear that matter up for you. I am a member of MENSA. I have earned my PhD and am a researcher and a scientist. I am employed by one of the top universities in this country...and I have tattoos. It is sad that as a society we remain so quick to judge what we consider different. Those differences are what make us unique and enrich our society. If we don't learn to embrace each other's differeces, whether religious. ethnic, cultural, sexual or tattoos, we might as well go back to living in caves.

My love affair with tattoos started when I was very young. I waited until I was 25 to get my first one. I am now 40 and have 3 tats. I did not get them because I am needy or crave attention (my tats are strategically placed and are only visible if I choose to show them). Like many bloggers have written, my tats mean something to me. I did not get inked on a spur of the moment, nor was I drunk or high or stupid. Each of my tats was designed by me and I worked with a great artist to bring my vision to his canvas. It just so happens that his canvas is my skin.

It really drives me nuts when people talk bad about tats. Its 2008, get real. Although, it seems alot of things about the world are getting worse, I don't believe the courage to express who you are is one of them. Maybe some people DO get tats to have people look at them, but SO WHAT..other people wear certain clothes to have people look at them or various other things. Let people express who they are w/out givin them any sh*t. And who are we to judge what is a "bad tatoo"? If YOU like it, does it really matter?

Do not talk about that which you do not understand. The "tramps stamp" is not a tattoo on the ankle, it is a tattoo on the lower back,it got that name because pimps would get their @$#!? s tattoo'd there so while she is out making his money the men would concentrate on the tattoos and take longer. ( i have three tattoos so far and i am working on my 4th, my mother has five, my father has one, my uncle has six) and instead of dissing something your probably to scared and to unimaginative and commitment shy too get doesnt mean you should take out your insecurities on those who weren't. AS*!

I have to reply to the comment "Posted at 9:51PM on March 7th 2008 by MsWinoPowdersHerNose"... What a moron... Is it possible that there are people out there that love the art of tattooing, and know exactly why they get tattooed.. I am heavily tattooed, educated, and have NOT ONE REGRET in my life, including any of my tattoos... I think the judgement you passed made you look like an a*s !

I have a tattoo. However, I did not get it for attention. My best friend who is an artist helped construct the design, and it has a lot of meaning to me, personally. I can't believe how ignorant people are! Are the people who chose to ink their bodies really affecting those of you who chose not to? Why must everyone have judgment to pass? It is widely accepted in many countries and cultures. It's okay that you chose not to get a tattoo, that's your choice. Who are you to judge us? Why can't we all just get along.

To quote someone above: "You probably walk around with your Chanel glasses, Abercrombie clothes, and Coach purse huh?" As as matter of fact i do, and probably have more tattoo's than you, now whos quick to judge?... moron.

For those defending tattoos, tell me this: how are those things going to look in 20 years? 50 years? Like ?#$!@ that's how. Get a grip. Tattoos are for emotionally needy people. For the moment they satisfy some odd attention urge, but 20 years later the regret is in high gear. Idiots.
