• 1. Priscilla Presley USED to be a beautiful woman and would have aged rather gracefully had she not tried to reverse the natural progression of time. Instead, she now looks eerily similar to the imfamous Cat Woman.

• 2. Don't need to be able to hear to dance! After all its something you do with your body not your ears! (if you see what I mean) You can 'feel' the beat and the music using vibrations, and there are plenty of things they can do to accommodate her deafness (flash a light when its time for her to start and/or stop, for example) And there is a difference between being 'Deaf' and 'deaf'. Deaf (with a capital D) are people who are proud of their Deafness and are part of Deaf Culture (they can be Hard of Hearing or profoundly deaf) whereas 'deaf (small d) are people who are ashamed of it. So Marlee can truthfully call herself Deaf without needing to be Profoundly Deaf, as she uses sign language as her main mode of communication. Being Deaf also doesnt mean you are incapable of speech - after all deafness means your EARS dont work, not your vocal chords! So she can be D/deaf and still able to speak, though obviously she might not be comfortable and/or intelligible when speaking!

• 5. Just so you know, many Deaf people can speak and with the help of hearing aids can hear various sounds and voices. This does not disqualify they as being Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Unless your Deaf/HOH yourself, I'd be very careful about making such bold statements. Marlee Matlin is indeed Deaf. She does not simply "play" Deaf characters. I'm proud of her and I wish her all the luck in the world.

• 8. to "Kris Tripple", umm I agree with "shut up" 11:48, I don't know who half these poeple are, and my husband know even less. (We're both American born and bred-my family's been he sinsince the 1880's, his since the slave days or basically forever.) I do know the show should be called "dancing with the has-beens and d-list celebrities though!" Not a fan of the show, but the best to Marleen Matlin though!
