Are you kidding me? These are the photos that launched all of this controversy?!?
OMG these are so lame. I've seen worse stuff from girls who I know that are in political offices right now.
Jeez people, lighten up.
Look i understand the importance of being a good role model, but you haft to understand also that shes a young adult. shes allowed to drink and have fun. i cant honestly believe that anyone on earth has been through their twenties and never ever did anything like this. its not even that bad. i imagine the pressure she must go through daily some kind of release is understandable. i would have thought about it a little more in front of a camera, but who thinks when drinking. thats the fun part. sometime we all haft to be young and dumb . i live almost 5 minuits from where shes from and its a hard town, tough town .i know many poeple from there and i think she has paid her dues becouse its a very difficult place to rise from. much respect to her and best wishes..... SIRE
who cares there not that bad its not like she 14 and doin shots shes 23 and i dont think theres anythin rong w/ the pics there no ware near as bad as ms navadas pics seriously
OK, for the religious comment down at the bottom, who are you to decide what God thinks and how he will take things? That makes you just as low as anyone else on this earth that may do something wrong every once in awhile. As for the subject in question, I'm undecided. I believe that pageant winners (and contestants) should behave appropriately in public and set decent example, but drinking when you are of legal age to do so is not inappropriate by any means; however, pictures may be fun to take in the privacy of someone's own home, to laugh and joke about, but when they are leaked to the internet and press when that individual is in a place of leadership and to set an example, I feel as though he or she should be even more careful with who or what goes on. Still my full support goes out to Elyse. Everyone makes mistakes, even if they aren't very dramatic and get turned into a big deal.
I didn't realize that it became a sport to fish for photos and nit-pick for reasons to get a pageant titleholder in trouble.
Elyse is allowed to make decisions just as well as any of you are. Surely you people realized that the legal drinking age is 21. At least she's drinking legally.
It's not like any of you haven't flashed hand-gestures before.
Nobody in this world is perfect.
And before you preach about how she isn't "being a role model", stop the hypocracy with the negative trash-talk about pageants. And what a role-model these people are being, by encouraging intolerance towards other sexualities.
It doesn't make sense, and you're not proving a point.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT SHE IS NOT DOING ANYTHING WRONG... IS IS LIKE 23 LAST TIME I CHECK YOU HAD TO BE 21 TO DRINK AND SHE OVER THAT...AND SHE ISENT EVEN KISSING THAT GIRL... YOU ARE BLOWING IT WAY OUT...
Wayne Mohler YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT... THE PEOPLE WHO GET UP THERE ON STAGE ARE NOT FAKE..... YOU MUST NOT HAVE ANY LIFE IF YOUR GOING TO COMING ON HER AND TALK CRAP ABOUT PEOPLE YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW... ELYSE IS A SUPER GREAT PERSON..... BUT YOU WOULDENT KNOW THAT BEACUSE YOUR AN ASS..SO HOW ABOUT THEM APPLES...
WOW.... YOU G PEOPLE DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT LETS SEE THE PEOPLE WHO THINK PAGEANTS ARE DUMB TO GET UP THERE AND WALKING AROUND AND GET JUDGED... NOT THAT EASY... ELYSE IS A GREAT PERSON... EVERONE HAS MADE A MISTAKE... BEFORE YOU GO TALK CRAP ABOUT HER YOU MIGHT WANT TO GET TO KNOW HER... SHE IS ONE OF THE NICEST PEOPLE I'VE EVER MET... KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK ELYSE... YOU DID GREAT AT MISS WASHINGTON 2008... ILY
I get such a laugh when I think of all these stupid pageants. Everything is such BS. These women go up on stage and pretend to be so wholesome and good. Pageants promote lies and the women competing in them are fake. Now Miss Umemoto is "blaming her seedy friends". I don't see any of her friends forcing her to act like a drunk. She's doing all that herself. Maybe she should do the honorable thing, take responsibility for what she's doing in the pictures and give up her crown. The bottom line is that she wants to represent her state and her nation on the public stage and her behavior (although probably innocent fun) is innapropriate and reflects poorly not just on her, but on everyone she represents through her position as Miss Washington.
