46. i got sorta mixed emotions about the situation but 1st thing is 1st,why even care?as long as she isnt sleeping with my man, drinking my beer or kissing my girl friend ,its really none of my buisness!
49. >>"normal" girls take pictures in their
>>bras, pretending to kiss their friends,
>>and making a hand gesture that indicates
>> oral sex??? apparently i'm not a normal
>> girl. or, as i prefer to call it, not a
>> skank.
Or, apparently, not somebody who went to college.
Seriously, what she did wasn't illegal, and not even a "wrong decision", and, yes, the sorts of things people do when they're partying.
All people have moments that they probably don't want to have broadcast around the world. The only reason you're offended is because these photos were moved (against her will, apparently) from the private sphere into the public sphere.
It must be a nightmare for her, poor girl, having people call her a skank when she was just photoed having a good time with her friends.
50. "normal" girls take pictures in their bras, pretending to kiss their friends, and making a hand gesture that indicates oral sex???
apparently i'm not a normal girl. or, as i prefer to call it, not a skank.
51. What's great about this is i just got it on my facebook. I know all these people and i'm a junior at school with all of them. Our punk ass little school somehow makes the national news.
Go lutes! Go Pacific Lutheran University!
Thats where all the kids in the picture are from and where this occured. I remember this night when she was there. Funny as hell because our administration hates drinking and even hires sheriffs to break parties up on their behalf.

52. Ok.....So the girl made some rude gestures with her hands, what's the big deal people do it all the time. It's not like the pictures were meant to be seen. She was having fun! I have realized that nowadays people like to ridicule you for just having fun! She is a normal 24 year old! She should not have been ridiculed for drinking either, it's not like she was underaged! She was just a normal girl trying to have a normal life! The big deal being made about the picture of her by the playgirl poster is extremely ridiculous too if me and friend had seen that poster we probably might have taken a picture like that too. It not like she went to the actual event and had pictures from there or anything!! So this whole thing is being blown out of proportion!!
53. (Continued)
And for those of you whom have put spin on this and are comparing this situation to who we have elected to office... really? Talk about apples and oranges. While the paegent industry may be about standards and morals, PLEASE let us NOT compare it to those who run the country. Don't get me wrong... I'm not pleased with our government at times, but that is really being far-fetched and looking for any reason to slam the government. Call a spade a spade.
54. Perhaps if we put more emphasis on things besides "beauty" [ or the popular perception of beauty ] we might get people with higher personal standards. Sure she was having fun, yeah it should have been kept private, but when a person becomes highly visible and therefore gets youthful fans and attention that person should not only choose their behaviors better but also their friends.
"Mommy, what is Miss Washington doing with her tongue???"
"Ummm ... well honey ..."
55. I can understand why many of you would say "Get over it and Let her do what she wants." But as a high school teacher, everyday I have to witness the demoralization of our youth... the standards by which we just others becoming looser and depending on what looks good rather than what IS good. When you take on a public persona, you must accept that whatever you do will most likely be publicised. Miss WA should have thought about this, and hopefully this will trigger the idea that what we do in the public eye ultimately is watched by those who will one day be in the public eye themselves.
56. K FOLKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's the thing. I posted earlier about the fact that I was a prelim queen to the Miss NC Pageant. I was LAMBASTED for pics that were TOTALLY INNOCENT (my friend & I at a club. NO kissing, NO crowns, etc. Just full on frontal SMILING! That's all!)
YES, Miss America sets itself up as a "role model" society; however, it "gives in" when it comes to individual prelims, individual discrepancies (the public would be amazed to know) and individual DONATIONS! STILL, as I said earlier, this pageant should be GRATEFUL to have, you know, ANY PUBLICITY AT ALL!!!
ALSO, if I were Miss Washington, I would be VERY concerned about my "FRIENDS!" *(who ultimately sold the pics of her PARTYING!")
57. For those of you who don't know, when you compete in the Miss America system, you sign a morality contract saying you are in good moral standing and that you wont do anything to embarrass the organization. That means no disgusting photos IN YOUR CROWN. Miss Washington should be stripped of her title and have to give back all the money that she won at Miss America, because she broke her contract. All this aside, she disgraced the system and embarrassed everyone involved. Whether Miss Washington realized it or not,as soon as she won the pageant, she was thrust into the spotlight, making her an instant celebrity. Therefore, making her a role model to someone. I understand having fun, and being a young woman, but wait untill you give up your title. The women who compete in Miss America work very very hard to get to where they are,and it's unfair for one girl having one night of fun to embarrass the pageant and ruin their reputations.
58. people need to get over it. There is NOTHING wrong with those photos. So she was seen having a good time which included drinking alcoholic beverages.
Not against the Law.
In some religions it is OKAY to consume alcohol.
So she made rude gestures.....once again..not against the law....and I'm looking at the 10 Commandments..there's nothing that says "Thou Shalt not Use thine hands in rude manner."
sheez..I cannot believe American have become so HOLIER Than THOU.
59. (PART 2) Now the nation of the great ol' USA has to soil there pants because "ONE" person that others look up to did one thing: MAKE THE WRONG DECISION...Let me ask you have you ever made the wrong decison? YES we all have so take your mind off this girl and put it on the gas price's or our president or Economy. This is a waste of time and space for both TV and internet she is nothing more than you or I even if you do not want to admit it. I smell Jealousy written all over everyone that has a problem with this.
60. No reason to take her crown. Poor behavior and she needs to be spoken to and educated to the reality of her new position. She made an early mistake and should be forgiven. Her actions though inappropriate, does not rise to the threshhold for dismissal. Let us move on.
