  She doesn't drive an $80,000 Range Rover, it's an LR2 that sells in the 30's. The Land Rover Dealer in Iowa gave it to her in exchange for making appearances at some of their Charity events. She is a very wealthy girl, with many endorsements even before she became a gold-medal winner. But she's certainly not the 1st or last Olympic athlete to do that. For all you American-bashers (like the one from Australia), I'm sure Ian Thorpe or any other non-American Olympic hero never made any money or got anything given to them due to their Olympic fame & achievments. So why is it bad for Shawn Johnson to do it? Lighten up!

  At what point did it become ok to publically humiliate someone in the name of entertainment. Is that the "American way"? I got news for TMZ and anyone else who participates in public humiliation...it is not cool and is not entertaining. It is classless and trashy. But then again, since 99% of Americans are nothing but common street trash, I guess you guys feel right at home.

  Wel I have to say that TMZ has made people look at themselves again and wonder "Do I look like a rat?" I don't and I do not think that the photo comparison should be discussed anymore. First of all, rats are associated with being dirty, scary, messy and rodents. For you to compare an Olympic athlete that did NOT inject her body with steroids with a rodent needs to have their head examined. She is a cute GIRL who, at 4'9" tall, towers over TMZ with class. Nevermind that she is an Olympic gold medalist or that she has worked her entire young life to reach a level of perfection so few humans will ever attain. Shawn, AMERICA LOVES YOU! Forgive these misguided, immature boys pretending to be reporters, who in no way represent the voice of a grateful nation. You are extremely adorable and quite a hero to the rest of us. I have never been more proud of a young American as I was following your Olympic experience. And never more ashamed of my countrymen upon learning how they ridiculed you. They couldn't help it. Between them all they don't have two I.Q. points to rub together.

  Seriously, you all are carrying on about this stupid comparison they made...how terrible it is that TMZ did this. ARE YOU SERIOUS? There's way worse things to be compared to then Topo Gigio. SHE WASN'T COMPARED TO AMY WINEHOUSE, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! And then there's the question: "Well, what if it was your sister or daughter that was made fun of?" Well, if my sister or daughter won a freaking medal, I really wouldn't give a damn what anyone said about her. I would just tell her to shove her metal in their faces. It's as though TMZ reported that they killed off Barney or something. God, get a grip, a sense of humor, buy yourself a clue or something. It was done in JEST. Like THEY ALWAYS DO. DUH!!!! To make this short: Shawn Johnson is an amazing medal-winning gymnast who has a slight resemblence to Topo Gigio. But she still won a medal. So who wins in the end?   Take it down TMZ she's an olympian not a hollywood celebrity. It's not right and you know it- please take it down. She's worked so hard and it's low class to bring down an olympian I don't care if you find it humorous or not- the people that do are the ones who couldn't even come close to even dreaming of an olympic moment. Show us your classy compassionate side and take it down please.

  It took TMZ way too long to take it down. You had to be shamed into doing it and STILL did not sincerely apologize to Ms. Johnson or the public. Harvey...hope you have all the money you need. I will never watch TMZ again, or for that matter The Peoples Court, so long as you have anything to do with it on air. I am sure many e-mails have been sent to advertisers on both shows denouncing your shameful attack on a young girl whose only "public personna" is being an Olympian. Stick to the tabloid trash where you belong.
