• 46. Did any of you who found the rat thing funny ever think about how it feels to be mocked? Maybe some of you have, and know how much it hurts. Shawn Johnson is a great athlete, with huge talent forged by discipline. Why would any of you nonentities want to take away the joy of her present moment? I guess I sort of laid the answer in the question. . .

• 47. I googled Harvey Levin's image & I must say he's not bad looking,I figured he be some nerd, but I do have to say I was alittle annoyed by the pics of Shawn & the rat. So I thought I would do my own comparison and googled the word donkey and came up with Donkey from Shrek with a big cheesy grin and I thought they looked pretty similiar. So I got a good chuckle & let it go. I'm from Iowa and we are extremely proud of Shawn & couldn't be any happier. Congrats gold medal winner!!!!!!!!!!!

• 48. Topogigiohas been my all time favourite character in the world of stuffed animals, so to be compared to him would be the gold medal of honour. I think it is absolutely adorable and in no way condescending. Leave it up.

• 49. Comparing a 16-year-old to a puppet rat may be cute or entertaining for many, but it certainly will be the reason this little girl will suffer from insecurity and low self-esteem in the future. In a culture where teens are getting plastic surgery so young and suffering from eating disorders, I don't think it was the greatest of ideas for TMZ.

• 57. Actually, TMZ isn't writing those e-mails themselves; I know this because one of them belongs to me. People are taking things too seriously and that is no way to live your life. Also, someone said that every e-mail has a misspelled word. Try again. There is a difference between every e-mail, and a lot of them. I'm actually quite perfect at spelling and grammar. Thank you for trying, though. Stop getting so upset over things before your vains burst!

Okay so how many of you hypocrites that are so up in arms about TMZ "picking on a 16 year-old" or "harassing a child" get as righteously indignant when they bag on Miley Cyrus or any other young star? How about none of you? Shawn's a public figure now. Many of you like to justify your gleeful bashing of Miley using that very same reason so why is it wrong of TMZ but not just as wrong for you to do it? The simple fact is TMZ makes it's money by criticizing, making fun of and being downright nasty to people. If you read the site, you are just as guilty and have no right to get mad at them.

• 60. First of all I think comparing her to a cute little mouse if fine, but there is a difference between a mouse and a rat, a rat is really gross and ugly a mouse is a smaller and cuter rodent. Being compared to a rat isn't very nice. When I hear the word rat I think of Master Splinter, and luts face it I don't believe she looks like that. When I think of a mouse I think of Stuart Little and he is very cute. Quit saying she looks like a rat, say she looks like a mouse, there is a difference.
