1. TMZ, keep doing your thing. The comment about Shawn Johnson was funny. Come on people it was just a little comparison. Some of the readers take stuff way to serious. TmZ was not calling her a wh*$# or something worse. Some of your readers need to get a sense of humor and stop bit!*ing about every little thing and as for the readers that said they weren't coming back on this website anymore, I say to them..GOOD. TMZ doesn't need people reading their website that can't take a joke and have sticks up their A**. Keep up the good work TMZ. :)

3. Passing the buck to Steve J for suggesting the comparison doesn't make you look any better, you dumbasses. You're the idiots who actually followed through with it! While Steve is undoubtedly a douchebag for suggesting the idea, Harvey and TMZ demonstrate further that they have less class than Britney, Lindsey, Paris, Winehouse, Joe Francis, Janice Dickinson, Roseanne, Andy Dick and the entire Kardashian entourage COMBINED. If I wanted to read snarky comments about successful, dedicated children who respect their parents, coaches and country, I'd go to Perez.

4. Come on!! People get so offended over the smallest thing. It really is funny. I'm a proud supporter of the Olympics and every athlete who is representing us. I will admit it is a little childish but it is FUNNY. Must I remind everyone of Spain's Olympic Basketball team who was photographed with "slitty eyes". If you want to get offended by something go look at that picture and e-mail the hell out of the Spanish newspaper that printed it. TMZ was trying to have some lighthearted fun. Which offends you more: light hearted fun or racism? If the people who were offended by the Shawn Johnson and rat comparison would put that energy into calling out the Spaniards for being racist maybe our world would be a better place. I’m not condoning what TMZ did, but I pick and choose my battles.

8. Eveyone takes things differently but, sorry I don't take this as comparing her to a big ugly rat. For those who remember and, for those who don't ask your parents or grandparents. Topo Gigo was a mouse and one of the most cutest and loveable characters on TV in the 50-60's. Just as Shawn is today. Seeing them side by side just reminded me of how cute of a person she is. Really with everything else going on today this is such a little thing to get so upset about.

To talk about Sean johnson in such a negative manner, when the man who runs your stupid website and tv show looks like a broke d$%& Steve Guttenburg rip off, is a complete travesty. TMZ should have enough pride in its own country to praise someone for doing something outstanding, especially a child. In watching the way Shawn Johnson performed and sunsequently conducted herself in interviews, I have never been more proud to be an American. It is quite clear that no one at your silly office has even a shred of moral fiber, but at least have enough sense to post a propper retraction and apology.

Given the depth of feeling that this article has aroused, I decided to do some research, in order to substantiate or disprove any of the completely diverse views expressed - and hopefully to settle this most passionate of debates. I have but one fact: Shawn Johnson's favorite food, is... Granola. 'Nuff said ...she's a rat. An adorable and cute rat, but a rat, nonetheless.

15. I love TMZ and they really didn't do anything wrong here. Half of the people criticizing TMZ said it is ok to trash celebrity teens but not an Olympic teen... hypocrites! Miley Cyrus could be just as sweet and innocent and nice as Shawn Johnson. No one here knows either one. It wasn't even a hurtful comment. Get a grip. If you don't like TMZ then just go away.
