What a great way to celebrate the life of Heath Ledger. Seeing his famliy and Michelle smile would have made Heath proud!! Now they can focus on moving forward with their life and remembering the great times they shared with Heath. My heart still breaks for Matilda but with a loving family around her she will know how much she was loved by her daddy. Heath will be missed by all. RIP Heath.
I think this is a beautiful celebration of someones life. I'm sure there were tears and sadness at Heath's funeral too - and then they all celebrated his life/knowing and loving him.I'm sure this is something he would have loved (I would). And who knows, maybe he requested something like this at his service...some unique way to celebrate his life! RIP Heath Ledger and God Bless his family in the days to come, especially his little daughter.
What a beautiful celebration of an amazing life. There will be plenty of sad and tearful times ahead of his family and friends so to me, this is a wonderfully needed burst of happiness. I am sure he was smiling while watching over this.
TMZ, I'm glad to see these pix. End with a smile I say. It's good to see the family smiling. The ocean, what an absolutely wonderful idea. I wonder who came up with that. I'm glad to see nice pix regarding Heath. I thought I would never get the pix of him being carried out of his apartment out of my mind. They sent him off with a smile and in celebration of his life. I think it's awesome. No more negative stuff about him please TMZ.
This is heartwarming. Those who don't see this as touching clearly didn't know Heath or ever lose a loved one. The range of emotions felt in these two weeks can never be fully explained unless you've been through the loss of someone so incredibly close and so incredibly good. You need to smile, you need the comfort of those who share in your grief and you need to see the sunshine. Heath would be devastated by their pain and smiling is a way of showing Heath that he brought them joy, not pain alone.
These pictures are very touching... I am glad to see his family and Michelle able to smile a bit in the midst of all the sadness. Heath was a magnificient actor and he seemed to be a true kindred spirit... he will be missed by many and although I never knew him I will miss him as well.
Thank you TMZ for covering this with such respect and kind words. I hope now the speculation/judging ends - it simply no longer matters.
I am truly in awe at the dignity his parents, sister, Michelle in fact everyone around him has shown in the face of such unrelenting coverage, his father has spoken from the heart and said all that ever needs to be said.
I think it is safe to say that with such open & loving people around Matilda really will grow up with the best memories of her father as her mother has already stated.
It is also clear that he really was a sensitive and gentle soul who was clearly very loved. What a beautiful expression of love to all jump in the sea and bid him farewell - rest in peace - we miss you :-) x
Very beautiful photographs. We will miss Heath very much! Just last week my daughter and I went to his former apartment in NYC and left flowers for Michelle and Matilda. I'm sorry we could not attend any memorials but we understand the family's need for privacy. I'm happy that they all smiled and took a plunge in his memory. I think he would have liked that!
Fran and my daughter Maggie--huge fans!

Amber, why in the world would YOU want someone to be sad and misrable at your funeral?
I want my loved ones to smile, remember me, be happy and LOVE THEIR lives!
Heaths family did just that! I loved the way the celebrated Heath Ledgers life, we can all be only so lucky! Clearly, these are people that WILL keep Heaths memory alive for his daughter Matilda. Isn't that what is most important?
Good job TMZ!

I dont find these pictures "thoughtful" or "touching" at all. To post these online shows no respect and it disgusts me
