  • 4. some jackass in Hollywood is selling red bracelets for a couple hundred thousand, and these ass wipes are buying them... Paris Hilton, famous for what?? oh yeah.. being a drunk driving sex tape making whore. famous because her grandparents have money... Thats really the representation Jews are looking for (NOT).. How about donating some of that money to feed someone, or building something charitable.. do that then try the bracelet, we might buy it.. but for now, whatch out for the lightning!

  • 5. u know wat, it's kind of pathetic. if theyre not religious then they shouldnt b wearing a red string bracelet, b/c it just doesnt make sense.plain and simple. im jewish and i wear 1 once in a blue moon. it's a symbol of preventing an "ayin hara",an eye/person that wants bad 4 some1 else. other religions hav it too. i bet with u 95% of these celebs dont even know wat its 4 and r assuming that its just a new trend. shame shame shame.

  • 6. Why the string? Do they really practice it? I know Madonna and her family do as do Ashton and Demi and family but for some isn't it just a way to say 'hey I'm in cool too?" I almost checked it out until I realized I'd be doing it to be 'in' and it was not what I knew to be what I felt was right and true.

  • 7. Winona Rider was not wearing a Kabbalah bracelet. These are worn only on the left wrist as it's the entry portal to the body, and the yarn is meant to ward off evil eye. She is wearing it on the right, so I suspect it's a buddhist thing.

  • 10. haha these comments are funny, well the ones I read...like the one that was talking about "black magick" hahah, or the one who said they should do research on these religions. First, Kabbalah isn't a religion it's a collection of practices and ideas, but it has historic ties to Judaism. Second, anyone who's done even the slightest amount of research into magick or spiritual practice (aside from what their "religion" allows them to believe) will understand how ignorant comments about 'black' magick, or anything about spirits etc. are. Oh well, to people who've read this and don't understand what I mean should keep their mouths shut, and their opinions to themselves until they open their eyes and their minds. Shalom Aleichem

  • 11. I just married a Jewish man last year & am in the midst of converting to Judaism. I would love to buy a pretty Kabbalah bracelet (not just the plain red string, but one with a Hamsa & lobster claw) & wear it as I am learning more about the Kabbalah & Torah. However, I *won't* wear one now because I don't want to be perceived as part of this silly Hollyweird trend... *sighs* My husband & I are both dismayed that these "celebrities" are making a mockery of our religion.

  • 12. None of these celebs have any brains. Same goes for scientologists. If they did research on religions they would know how stupid these so called religions are!

  • 13. That red yarn = black magic which is a custom of kabballahs. They are either satan-worshippers because thats how "black magic" works by dealing with devil/spirits or some of these celebs are trying to get in the "in crowd" without knowing what it really means!

  • 14. Actually my Mahayana tradition of Buddhism also uses the red string to signify empowerments and refuge. Our tradition wears it on the left wrist however. I do know others use the right. I think the significance is important to those that wear it and shouldn't concern others in the least.

  • 15. It's a piece of red yarn. Is it supposed to have magical powers?
