• 241. I think she's great. There aren't enough young republicans around anymore. Everyone is in 60s throwback mode these days. At least she stands for something she believes in, not what everyone else does. I like that she thinks for herself and sticks up for it, even if I don't agree with her beliefs.

If you support Bush, and you support the war, then you should be the first to sign up to put yourselves in jeopardy. Tim Hasslebeck should lead the charge. Bottom line. No excuses. Everyone of you who voted for Bush the second time around are responsible for the loss of almost 4,000 deaths of our men and women of the Americal military and almost 30,000 injuries. • 249. I am so amazed at the back and forth going on. This is the problem we have. No one can have a civil discussion about politics or differing points of view with out stooping to insults and a yelling match. As a conservative I get very tired of being lumped in a general category and labeled as a closed-minded moron. I don't think Pres Bush has done a great job recently. I don't agree with everything he does or says. Some of Elizabeth's views are extremely loyal to the president. Does that make her an idiot? No, it's her opinion. Does believing universal healthcare will actually make a difference make someone an idiot? No - an uninformed opinion maybe - but not necessarily an idiot. Taryn - I am thankful for your husband's service to this country. EVERY person serving the military here or abroad, in peace time or war makes sacrifices and deserves respect. Thank you!

• 251. Elizabeth is a beautiful, highly intelligent, well-informed young lady whose views are from an entirely different perspective than those of the liberal establishment who persecute her. Liberals never seriously consider the truth claims of conservatives. They think their own views to be the only ones that could possibly be correct, so, anyone who disagrees with them, ipso facto, could not be right. The tragic fact is that liberalism is a genuine form of insanity, a choice to flee from reality into a goofy dream world of the liberal's own making. They are lost in a mental fog of psychosis from which precious few ever find deliverance. I'm thankful that Elizabeth, great woman that she is, needs no such rescue, nor will she ever.

• 252. Ah ... Richard ... earth to Richard ...truth is in the ears of the believer. There is nothing in Elizabeth Hasslebeck to be jealous about. Really what is the gripe here. Elizabeth needs to put her actions where her mouth is. She is so for this president and this war, she needs to send her huband off to war. And now, as word has it, that she will not be back on The View, she can do just that. She can stay at home with her children, and Mr. Tim can go off to serve in Iraq. I am all for listening to other peoples opinions, but when she starts wagging that finger in someone's face, I like to slap her.

• 255. To Taryn (below): You have quite the attitude! You should kiss the ground your husband walks on that he is safely here in America. Our National Guard is supposed to be here protecting our country. My nephew's NG unit was one of the many NG units called to serve in Iraq. His unit suffered three deaths and many long-long disabilities. He came back alive and not physically disabled, but he was mentally disaibiled for a while, and he also has a lifelong, potentially life threatening illess as a result of his time in Iraq. Instead of moving to Austraila, why don't you make yourself honorable and voluteer to serve in Iraq. You and Elizabeth can go together. At this point any candidate would be better than what we have been subjected to for 7 years (and one more to go). It's ignorants like you who put George Bush in office. Actually, he stole the election didn't he?
