47. Every new president adds their own touches to the white house to make it their home. Some people like to have something negative to say for the sake of being negative. It's not Obama's fault that you can't update your mobile home in the trailor park that you live in.
49. I don't get why people on here are bitching because they are updating a part of the White House? It would have happened if McCain would have won, if Hillary would have won, or even if I would have won (haha). Its one of those things that happens with incoming Presidents, and one of those things that happens when new people move into homes.
Although it isn't like Bush actually spent too much time there anyway. What was it, over a year and a half spent in Crawford, Texas...among other places? ;-)
52. I think its rediculous that Obama spent his entire campaign complaining how bad the economy is and now he is spending money on redecorating the private quarters of the white house....shouldnt that money be put back into the deficit that is growing by the minute....If it is private donations then spend it more wisely then redecorating since he probably is going to be there only for four years....dont talk the talk if you're not going to walk the walk....
53. Do any of us regular Americans get to redo our homes w $100,000 just because we moved into a new place, heck no. And why don't those private donations to fix up their private place give the money to the needy that he supposly is supposed to feel so bad for. Why does it all have to be changed? It is a beautiful place. Laura Bush had wonderful taste whether you liked her husband or not. Please this can not continue, spend spend spend
56. This gentleman's designs are too bland for me. Too much beige and bland colors for my taste. To many knick knacks that have no sense of collection or why they are there. The only light and airy I can see are the long windows with shears, but anyone can do that. With the smog and bad air in Washington D.C. They may want to close the drapes rather than have the open -- it ain't Hawaii!!
I do not understand why the attacks against Michelle Obama on this blog -- very uncool. She will be the First Lady and thus deserves our respect. Many of us suffered through the Bush's First Ladies and didn't feel the need to attack them or their taste.
59. What are you all complaining about? That your President does not know how to elegantly waste the tax-payers money???

60. Personally, I like the style. It looks classy but not so much that you don't feel as though you can use it.
To Mikey--
Give me ONE example that proves that Michelle Obama isn't classy? The fact is--you hate the influence that she's going to have. And, whether you like it or not, she will have an influence.
Get over it already...
THE OBAMAS ARE MOVING IN!!!

46. It's too run-of-the-mill. The White House should have a more distinct style. This is for the President, dude! http://www.christconnection.net
