• 47. Those women are beautiful, and there stunning complexions only add to that beauty. I would encourage them, as well as others, to continue protecting their skin from damage. They will still look beautiful in 20 years, whereas "bronzed beauties" will look twice their age.

• 48. As a pale redhead who has never tanned in my life...I am offended by the comments written below the photos. "Julianne Moore could use some hours at the beach"... If she did, she'd burn! And please tell me what is sexy about lobster red skin and blisters? As a child who would go to the beach and end up with blisters on my shoulders for forgetting to reapply my sunscreen after swimming, I don't think it's fair to pick on pale skinned people. Julianne Moore and Nicole Kidman are beautiful women, pale skinned and all. And yes, when all of these women who spend hours on the beach tanning turn 40 or 50, and look haggish, I'll be happily sporting my healthy pale skin.

• 51. I am 51 years old and take very good care of my skin. I have very dark hair, but extremely fair skin. I have friends who are 15 years younger than me who worship the sun all summer long and are already looking like leather. I'd rather be pale me than a old liver age spotted old lady.

• 52. JMB, I am pale, but perfectly able to tan if I want to. I just don't feel the need to be any other color than the one God made me. Plus, I am 36 and I am mistaken for 27 ALL THE TIME. I educate my younger friends on the virtues of sunscreen and taking care of their skin. These stars look great because they remain as natural as they possibly can in Hollywood.

I was making a point that all the girls I went to high school with look really old now and I dont. I do freckle and suppose if I baked myself I could look like beef jerky too.I choose not to.

• 57. Who's the idiot tha wrote this?! Redheads are pale because most of them (us) CAN'T TAN! Our skin lacks the necessary pigmentation...we only have a little--that's why we freckle. But, hmm... let's see: which would I rather do--cook my skin on purpose, or have healthy skin? Boy, that's a tough one! Please tell me what is appealing about skin cancer, premature aging, wrinkles, and tough leathery skin that feels disgusting?

• 59. ha~thats funny..I too grew up--was in high school in the 80's--and my schoolmates made comments about my pale-ness. I am half Polish/Ukranian on my moms side--but then Armenian (Middle Eastern~!) on my dads...and I burn. Back then older women used to stop me in public places and comment how I looked like a china doll. Now, all the girls from HS who tanned, tanning salons-etc--look like they could be my mother..I am turning 40 next year, and am always mistaken for 29..by people in their 20's!! DONT smoke and STAY OUT OF THE SUN LEATHERFACE

• 60. I think all of these people have beautiful skin. That is how their skin is supposed to look and if they were tan they would look awful. The only one that looks bad is Kelly Osborne because she wears too much make up.
