• 2. Vogue Italia has always had black models in their magazine. It's American Vogue that is behind. Nobody will ever forget the 4 covers of black models that Vogue Italia did about a year or year and a half ago. That became one of their biggest selling editions ever. Getting back to Rihanna, I don't understand why she's posing topless at this moment. Maybe because the nude video of her surfaced, she doesn't care anymore.

• 8. I see the extraordinary Grace Jones influence throughout this photo shoot! Grace Jones was and is the epitome of forward thinking visual performance art! Most people today, are too young too fully understand the impact of Jones. Rihanna is someone who acknowledges and respects the path Grace made for black women in which they were not placed in conventional, passive and invisable roles that society would prefer them to be placed. • 10. Wow! She looks so fierce and strong in these photos. Notice how long and linear the body is especially in #4 and #6. Fashion photographers love this! Rihanna has such distinct style anyway that she can probably rock a shower curtain and make it look good. So nice to see her moving on with life and surrounding herself with positive things, like doing a major photo shoot for Italian Vogue. Good for her! I was reminded of old school Grace Jones style too, but even that woman is still rocking her look and she's like 61 years old. It just shows that if you have enough confidence you can pull off any look no matter what your age is. Make it work!

• 11. The High Fashion world loves Rihanna. Powerful people in High Fashion can be extremely arrogant and narcissistic, so giving Rihanna and opportunity to appear in Vogue Italia is amazing. It’s one of the most difficult magazines to be in, especially for an ethnic model/singer This magazine has a reputation of not using black people in their editorials. Rihanna looks edgy and strong. The photographs are to die for.
