if these players want to use steroids or any other chemical substance to gain an advantage and win, more power to them.. Americans love a winner and they hate a loser- all this baloney about winning fair and cleanly is just that, baloney! Bobby Bonds and Roger Clemens achievements in baseball are due to the fact that they were willing to do whatever it takes to win.. America loves that! Wake up!.!. nice guys really do finish last..Bonds and Clemens got to the top because they wanted it more than anyone else and were willing and determined to go the extra mile and risk their health to get there... They should be applauded, not criticized ......
what a witch hunt! the commish and the senator carry on a dog and pony show and then they serve up a list of names.
those sanctimonious oligarchs! who do they think they are kidding. it is selig and the owners who fostered the atmosphere of condoning and encouraging steroid use among the players, turning up the heat so that players fought for more and more of an edge in a world dominated by big $$ and bigger egos.
now the bubble has burst and baseball is making patsies out of the players.
true, steroid use is wrong and so are the players who used steroids. but the majority of the blame must go to the higher ups, the commish and the owners, for their unbridled greed and avarice.
this may once have been a game -- the national pasttime, even. today it is enterprise writ large. period.

My Dad was a great baseball player, had a chance to play for the Yankees, but during WWII, and stayed home to take care of the family, and I played baseball too. Have always loved the game, but between all the greed of the league, owners, and players, along with
the steroid and other drugs, I thank I am through with baseball, so let down by players, I once thought great.

This is stupid. Steriods is illigal. All the people in this report should be:
1) Stripped of any records and removed from historical statistics. Or put an astrix symbolizing STERIOD JUNKIE.
2) They should all be giving a 1 season suspension with no pay. Before next season starts test them again, if there positive there gone forever.
There is lots of other new talent that can replace them.
This will make a great example for the kids.
Too bad the owners and discission makers are stupid and only care about money.
C'Mon who really cares. Bonds is a hero. Get off his back. What he did is amazing regardless. The people that should be put in jail are the MLB execs. that turned a blind eye to fill the seats after the world series was canceled due to the strike. And 2 think everyone thought the ball was juiced.
To those of us that love the pure game of baseball, it matters. The homerun contest in the late 90's between Sosa and McGuire is tainted. So is Barry Bonds homerun record. Shame on the guilty and anyone who condones it. What happened to fair play? I wonder what Mantle, Gehrig, and the Babe would think? They were true players with pure skill.
I just hope the penalty is the same for ROGER CLEMENS and the other sports steroid users the same as it was BARRY BONDS and MARION JONES. I think a crime is a crime and it shouldn't matter, if JUSTICE IS REALLY BLIND, whether you are BLACK,WHITE, RICH, POOR, THE PRESIDENT OR A GARBAGE MAN, but for too long now, BLACKS and LATINOS and the POOR have been getting the heavier portion of punishment.

nano, Mo Vaughn didn't play for the Red Sox? EVERY team had someone involved. Anyone have any ideas on what to watch between the NHL/NBA finals and the beginning of football?

How can you include Mark McGwire on that list? We all know he has a questionable past but his name was not mentioned in this report.
