You'd be surprised. 2.This country wouldn't have even gotten off the ground without slaves. Do some research it is very HARD to pick cotton. Yes so true. We wouldn't have won our independence from Britan because we would have had no MONEY - from cotton, tobacco or other cash crops. 3. There are plenty of European countries that have never owned slaves and they are STRUGGLING. Struggling so much that they had to COMBINE their currency into the Euro to have any buying power at all.
