  • 17. especially those who can afford outrageously expensive clothing can afford not to buy clothing from sources that are brutally cruel to the source. don't any animals die from natural causes or old age? do they have to be tortured? do they think the animals coat looks better on them? do they think they somehow they receive the grace and beauty of the animal they're wearing? what will happen when there are no more animals with grace and beauty and skins of value? will the rich pay for the skin of humans to attempt to look young or beautiful? obviously, life means nothing to them and money can already buy organs from people not yet ready to part from them. where will it end?

  • 18. I have seen a video on how people make furs, and I want to say that it's just plain sickening. Any person who would wear fur to look good after what they did to those poor animals are just heartless. Celebrity or not, if you wear fur and especially know how furs are made, then you are just a waste of sperm.

  • 19. Dan, trust me, you do not want to eat psssdoff. Too many parasites in long pork.

  • 20. There is no reason to wear animal skins in this day and age except that those who can afford it, your money and mine going for the crap they make in music or movies, so they want to flaunt it. I hope when they die they get skinned and an animal wears them...for eternity over and over again...they know where the fur comes from and they just dont care. I do and I will not donate one penny to anything they are in or do. Thats my way of protesting. I dispise them all for what they do.... To me they are low lifes and dont deserve the media coverage they seem to get..... Posted at 8:09AM on December 7th 2007 by psssdoff Who gives a crap what you think. If they want to wear fur so be it. If I want to eat meat, thank God it's not yours. Get off your high horse moron. Your as bad as the celebs when it comes to pushing your own agenda down someones throat. I'm going to get a burger.

  • 21. (Cont) I've known way too many people who were "vegans" and their diets were horrible. My girlfriend would eat a bag of Fritos for lunch instead of a tuna sandwich-- and she crashed an hour later. Unless one is a licensed nutritionist, maintaining a vegan diet for any length of time is not only difficult, it can be downright dangerous. And children should NEVER be put on a vegan diet. They need all the fat, protein, and calories for muscle, brain, and skeletal growth. If one chooses a vegan lifestyle, that's their choice. But to force that way of eating onto a mass populace just isn't practical or healthy. If a person is concerned about the humane treatment of animals in the packing industry, then that person needs to lobby Congress to pass laws ensuring the that treatment of animals AND the safety of its workers. They can also buy organic meat products, which can be expensive, but they will be assured that the meat they are eating wasn't produced by chemicals or cruelty.

  • 22. Um, no, Moses didn't save the animals. And for another thing, it is unfortunate that we must rely on the meat packing industry, but it is a necessary evil. We have 300 million people to feed in this country. And no, veganism is NOT natural. It is a choice, and a noble one at that, but there has never been a scientific study proving that veganism is overall better for a human being. We are omnivorous animals, meaning that our bodies are primarily made up of long-strand protein blocks. Less than 10,000 years ago, our diet was 85% meat. Hence, we must eat long-strand protein in order to maintain and build muscle. The proteins found in vegetable matter (nuts, rice, legumes, etc) are SHORT-strand proteins, hence incomplete protein. Without proper protein, the body starts feeding on itself for fuel, and the first thing it starts eating is MUSCLE tissue. That's why you don't see a lot of (pardon the pun) BEEFED-UP vegans. (Cont)

  • 24. Man some people are clueless...First off , Moses didnt save the animals, Noah did and second of all, if not for the furs of thier kills, early settlers would have froze to death.

  • 25. How heartless can some people be? If you eat meat, fine, but don't go around saying "vegetarians are missing out!" If we thought that way we WOULD eat meat. I am a vegan and I am proud. If you knew anything about how animals are treated then your opinion would be completely different from what it is right now. I won't preach any further, but "our creator" didn't put animals on this planet to be destroyed. Did Moses not save the animals?

  • 26. Jen, if you check your science you'd know that humans are omnivores not carnivores or herbivores. Our bodies and digestion are evolved for the digestion of both meat and vegetables. It is very difficult to obtain all the necessary nutrients from a purely vegetarian diet, particularly for children. This is the cause of beri-beri and rickets in the children of vegetarians and also the cause of kwashiorkor. While it is easier for adults to obtain all the necessary amino acids, it still requires careful monitoring of your diet. High cholesterol is not caused by an animal protein diet but by a diet high in fat. If you eat lean meat, such as chicken, lean pork or lean beef, you do not get high cholesterol unless you have a genetic predisposition for it. Since only some heart attacks are caused by arteriosclerosis, it is ridiculous to claim that heart attacks are caused by eating meat.

  • 27. I love it when a topic comes up about animals...and someone else comes in and thinks they can put children into it. The topic is about animals not children. But if you feel that a person has to pick between two living things..then I would say none should suffer period. Who are you to say animals were put on this earth to clothe us and feed us? Are you a God? I'd really love to know. I hope you go into a slaughter house one day and see how those animals scream in agony. You selfish human being. You don't belong on this earth.

  • 28. Just because a book tells you to kill an animal and eat it doesn't mean it's a great religion. Carnivores suffer from heart attacks and high cholesterol. Looks like they don't know what they're missing. Vegetarians and vegans live longer lives :) I know our true creator would love for us to not hurt another living creature.

  • 29. furisdead.com they look tacky I have no respect for them also

  • 30. Cindy, I was arguing specific laws as codified in the penal code of the USA. You are arguing what you consider to be natural or moral laws. The two are not comparable since opinions on morality differ but codified laws do not. Use some common sense (rationality) not emotion in your arguments and you might be worth listening to. So far all of the anti-fur posters on this thread have been arguing emotion. Get real. Mind you, I'm not saying that the pro-fur posters are always rational as opposed to emotional. Some of their posts are ridiculous also. Lina, I might respect your opinions more of you learned English. Your post makes you sound stupid and uneducated. Please look up meanings and spellings next time you post.
