  • 31. Evolved? Now that is the FUNNIEST most ludicrous thing I have ever heard. Stay on topic here people! geez. Have a big fat juicy T-Bone Steak with a side of Asparagus and some cheese Toast! Vegetarians have no idea what their missing!!!! Thanks to the Animals!! Thanks to our Creator....

  • 32. Good for SJP for wearing fake fur. What's changed about the fur industry in the past 100 years is that wild animals such as mink and fox are now being intensively farmed, especially in China, where there are no animal welfare regulations. Before fur-bearing animals started being factory farmed, animals killed for their fur were mostly caught in the wild, but now they are raised in tiny cages that give them little space to move around. Standard methods of killing include anal electrocution, neck breaking, and gassing. The fur farmers don't want to damage the pelt, which is why they choose such killing practices that cause the animal horrific suffering. The bottom line is that anybody genuinely concerned about animal cruelty should never buy fur. There are so many warm and fashionable alternatives that don't involve animal suffering.

  • 33. THANK YOU SJP!! Please spread this point of view to other celebs. The inhumane ways animals used for fur and skins are kept and killed make it completely UNACCEPTABLE! God bless you!

  • 34. And by the way animals were not 'put' anywhere. They EVOLVED. Go to college!

  • 35. If the people that keep preaching about abused children bothered to do something themselves, there would be no need for an hierarchy. Nobody is here to decide what form life has priority to live. I support and animals and abused women with all my heart, most people don't support neither. It's time those pseudo-preachers got a bit more educated! Whoever thinks he's in a position to prioritise suffers from great dellusions of grandiose! Shame on you.

  • 36. If all the haters would care as mush about abused children an they do about animals, thousands if not millions of kids would be rescued. They are the ones we all should be concerned about, not animals which were put on this earth to clothe and feed!

  • 37. I concede to some of your comments that we have always worn fur, however the factory way we kill animals is pretty disgusting and brutal to the point where it has to be generally glossed over. Most of us couldn't eat if we knew what the animals went through in their lives. I was a vegetarian for 13 years because I didn't want to contribute to the killing machine or to "make more karma" for myself. I truly tried to live that way, but the odds are stacked against you in our society. Wearing leather is distasteful to some, but leather is only a by-product of beef. The fur on clothes or coats is not a by-product. Those animals are specifically bred and killed for one purpose. Not a pretty sight, so most of us prefer not to know the details. A wise man once said "Ignorance is bliss". If that is true, most of us are fairly blissful.

  • 38. Wearing fur is just wrong! In this day and age, if you need to kill helpless animals to look "good," you are sick. I wouldn't go as far as tossing things at people who wear fur, it is after all, their right. But, I have no respect for them and....they look stupid!

  • 39. Granted, I see where your coming from. The way the animals are killed. That can be disturbing. As far as my opinion, I do not see anything wrong with Fur as a form of clothing, however, I do not agree with how they are killed and mistreated during that process.

  • 40. Just because something "has been going on since the beginning of time" does that mean it is right? Slavery has been going on since the beginning of time too... anyone wanna argue to bring that back? Get enlightened people. Trust me... you see a 20 second video or a poor helpless animal being skinned alive and blinking its eyes and wondering what happened to its skin - you'll change. I did.

  • 41. God put them on this Earth for a purpose. For Food and Clothing. Get over it people! It's been a practice since the beginning of time!!

  • 42. Hey "Different Opinion"..... If you're going to criticize violence, how about criticizing the violent deaths of the animals these idiots are wearing (cramped filthy cages, anal electrocution, skinning alive...all well documented regular practices in the fur industry). Comeon, people, it's nearly 2008. Time to move beyond the caveman barbarisms of killing & skinning animals for clothing. It's cruel to the animals and terrible for our environment. GOOOOOO COTTON!!!

  • 43. Destani, you have the right to be a vegetarian if you chose. What you don't have is the right to tell other people what they should do. Especially if it's a violent assault such as throwing dye at people's possessions or spitting on them both of which are crimes. That's all most of us are saying.

  • 44. That is radiculous.I am a VEGETARIAN and I'm only 15.I chose to be this way and no one else in my fam. is.I love animals and always have so I don't want to eat them or wear them.

  • 45. Fur whores..., et al. You people need to get a clue. All that is born will die and no matter what anyone tells you there is no such thing as a good death. If you believe in karma, then these animals will move very far towards Nirvana since they have negated a large amount of bad karma in this life. Of course one can then argue that fur-wearers are incurring a large karmic burden but that is their problem and they will pay for it in their next life if the circle of life says it's a bad thing. Unfortunately, none of us will know until after we die.
